Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our services, approach, and how we work with clients.
How does an engagement typically start?
It usually begins with a conversation. We'll discuss your requirements, scope the work, and provide a proposal that outlines the approach, timeline, and deliverables. Every engagement is tailored — we don't sell off-the-shelf packages.
How long does a typical engagement take?
It depends on scope. A targeted research engagement might take one to two weeks. A training program can be designed and delivered over four to six weeks. Program assessments and advisory work typically run six to twelve weeks. We'll always give you a clear timeline upfront.
Do you work with clients outside the United States?
Yes. While we're US-based, we work with international organizations and have conducted research across multiple regions and languages. We're experienced with cross-border OSINT collection and the legal and cultural considerations that come with it.
What does pricing look like?
We scope and price each engagement individually based on complexity, timeline, and deliverables. We're happy to discuss budget expectations early in the conversation so we can design an approach that works for your organization.
What's the difference between OSINT research and an investigation?
Intelligence and investigations serve different purposes, use different methods, and produce different outputs. Intelligence is forward-looking and supports decision-making. Investigations are backward-looking and establish facts about specific events. We specialize in intelligence — though our research often supports investigative teams.
What kinds of training do you offer?
We design custom OSINT training programs, analytic tradecraft workshops, intelligence writing courses, and curriculum for organizations building or improving in-house capabilities. All instruction is grounded in IC doctrine and adapted for your team's operational context.
Can you help us build an OSINT program from scratch?
Absolutely. We've helped organizations stand up new intelligence capabilities from the ground up — including workflow design, SOP development, technology selection, governance frameworks, and analyst training. We can also assess and improve existing programs.
Do you provide tools or software?
We're tool-agnostic. We teach methodology and tradecraft, not specific software. That said, we can evaluate your technology stack and make recommendations as part of an advisory engagement.
Who is behind Pangea Research?
Pangea Research was founded by Jessica Stutzman, an intelligence professional with over 16 years of experience across the intelligence community. She chairs the OSINT course for IACIS, serves on the OSINT Foundation's Resourcing and Policy Committee, and is completing a doctorate in Strategic Intelligence.
What makes Pangea different from other OSINT firms?
We're practitioner-led and standards-based. Everything we deliver, research, training, advisory work, is built on established intelligence methodology. We also invest in publishing original research and educational resources for the broader intelligence community.
Do you hold security clearances?
We work with both cleared and uncleared clients. Please contact us directly to discuss specific requirements.
