Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Pangea Research platform — including our website (pangearesearch.io), Lab, Academy, Factory, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform") — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Pangea Research LLC ("Pangea Research", "we", "us", "our"). We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Platform. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Platform only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these age requirements.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). See our Privacy Policy for details.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
  • Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
  • Notify us immediately at privacy@pangearesearch.io if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
  • Not create multiple accounts for the same person, or accounts on behalf of others without authorization

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

Platform Content and Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including scenarios, lessons, courses, training materials, assessments, software, designs, text, graphics, and logos — is owned by Pangea Research or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Your license. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use Platform content for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes, subject to these Terms.

Restrictions. You may not:
- Reproduce, redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit Platform content without prior written permission
- Download, copy, or capture training scenarios, lesson materials, or assessment content for redistribution
- Submit Platform content to AI training systems, large language models, or machine learning datasets without our written consent
- Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

Your content. You retain ownership of content you create on the Platform (such as notebook entries, journal notes, and forum posts). By posting content, you grant Pangea Research a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content as necessary to operate and improve the Platform.

Acceptable Use Policy

The Platform teaches open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques, investigative methodologies, and analytical tradecraft. You agree to use the Platform and the skills you learn responsibly and ethically.

You agree NOT to:

  • Use OSINT techniques learned on the Platform to harass, stalk, threaten, dox, or invade the privacy of any person
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, networks, or data — whether on the Platform or elsewhere
  • Use Platform training to conduct surveillance, intelligence gathering, or investigations that violate applicable law or the rights of others
  • Violate the terms of service of any third-party platform or service while practicing OSINT techniques
  • Share solutions, flags, or answers to active scenarios or assessments in ways that undermine the learning experience for others
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or extract Platform content without written authorization
  • Upload malicious code, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with Platform operations or other users' access
  • Impersonate any person, entity, or Pangea Research staff
  • Use the Platform for any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law

Ethical OSINT commitment. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that OSINT skills carry ethical responsibilities. You agree to practice techniques only within authorized contexts (training environments, sanctioned investigations, legitimate research) and to respect the privacy and rights of individuals at all times.

Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

AI-Powered Features

The Platform includes AI-powered features such as content generation, AI tutoring, and adaptive assessments. When using these features:

  • AI-generated content is provided for educational purposes and may contain errors or inaccuracies. You should verify AI outputs independently before relying on them.
  • Your interactions with AI features (prompts, responses, context) are processed by third-party AI service providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You may not use AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, deceptive, or that violates these Terms.
  • AI-generated outputs do not constitute professional advice (legal, financial, security, or otherwise).

Purchases, Subscriptions, and Refunds

Certain Platform features, courses, scenarios, or subscriptions may require payment. All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

Pricing. All prices are in US Dollars unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, but changes will not affect existing paid subscriptions until the next renewal period.

Refunds. If you are not satisfied with a purchase, you may request a refund within 14 days of purchase by contacting privacy@pangearesearch.io. Refund eligibility may be limited if you have substantially completed the purchased content. Subscription refunds are prorated to the unused portion of the current billing period.

Cancellation. You may cancel a subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refund is issued for the remaining days of the current period.

Third-Party Services and Links

The Platform may integrate with or link to third-party services, including OAuth authentication providers (Google, GitHub, Microsoft), payment processors (Stripe), AI service providers (Anthropic, Google), and external websites. We are not responsible for the content, terms, privacy practices, or availability of third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and policies.

No Professional Reliance

Platform content — including scenarios, lessons, AI-generated materials, and assessments — is provided for educational and training purposes only. It does not constitute legal, financial, security, intelligence, or other regulated professional advice.

Training scenarios use simulated data and environments. Techniques learned on the Platform may not be directly applicable to real-world situations without appropriate adaptation, authorization, and legal review. You are solely responsible for how you apply skills learned on the Platform.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PANGEA RESEARCH DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.

We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content will be accurate, complete, or current. We do not guarantee any specific learning outcomes, certifications, or employment results from using the Platform.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PANGEA RESEARCH AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data, profits, revenue, or business opportunities
  • Service interruptions or data breaches
  • Errors or inaccuracies in content, including AI-generated content
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your account
  • Actions taken by you based on skills or techniques learned on the Platform

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO PANGEA RESEARCH IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, the above limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pangea Research and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms
  • Your application of techniques or skills learned on the Platform
  • Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party
  • Content you create, submit, or share on the Platform

Account Termination

By you. You may close your account at any time by contacting privacy@pangearesearch.io or using the account settings in the Platform. Upon closure, you may request deletion of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including:
- Violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Extended inactivity (with prior notice)
- At our discretion for any lawful business reason

Effect of termination. Upon termination, your right to access the Platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, and Governing Law) will survive.

Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising from or related to them or the Platform shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution first. Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at privacy@pangearesearch.io and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 60 days.

Binding arbitration. To the extent permitted by applicable law, if informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from or related to these Terms or the Platform shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall take place in the State of Delaware (or remotely, at the arbitrator's discretion). The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding and may be entered as a judgment in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Class action waiver. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AND PANGEA RESEARCH AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Pangea Research.

Opt-out. You may opt out of the arbitration and class action waiver provisions by sending written notice to privacy@pangearesearch.io within 30 days of first using the Platform. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the State of Delaware.

Exceptions. Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for claims related to intellectual property rights or unauthorized access to the Platform.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and any additional terms presented at the time of purchase or enrollment, constitute the entire agreement between you and Pangea Research regarding your use of the Platform. These Terms supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
